FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS | |
Q: My junior has never golfed before, is that alright? A: Yes! Classes will be mostly new golfers and some with a little experience. Q: Do I need golf clubs? A: You can bring you own but we will have some for use. Q:Do I need to be a member of Astoria Golf & Country Club? A: Nope! All are welcome to join. Q:Can my kid(s) try just one or two classes? A: Unfortunately, no. That won’t be enough time for them to see improvement. Q:What’s the difference between this and a golf clinic? A: Your typical clinic might have 15-30 people with 1-2 teachers. We max classes at 8 people for more individual attention. We also have a plan to help you improve long term! Combine that with getting you on the golf course twice a month because that’s where the real fun begins! Q:What if we miss a class during the 8-weeks? A: We will have plenty of makeup options on Saturday’s! Q:What is the total cost? A: The cost is $330 per semester. Your junior’s 8 weeks in Operation 36 add up to about 16 hours of golf. At the same price for private coaching, you would get 3-5 hours. Q: Will we be playing a full round of golf when we play? A: Not initially. We start off our golfers from a very small course, learning the skill sets needed to shoot target scores, and once we can do that, we make the course incrementally longer. Q:When do classes start and end? A: We have 3 separate semesters throughout the season so pick what works best for you! Q:We did classes last year. What is the point of doing another? A: Golf is an everlasting journey that never ends. When and if your junior decides to become a serious junior golfer, we can transition them to a different stage of learning. Operation 36 The Oregon Coast Golf Academy is proud to offer Operation 36, a fun and structured way to learn and improve at golf. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced player, Op 36 provides a clear development plan to help you progress with measurable goals. HOW IT WORKS Op 36 is a unique program that flips traditional golf instruction. Instead of starting at the full-length course, golfers begin from 25 yards from the hole and work their way back as they shoot a score of 36 or better for 9 holes. This on-course experience is paired with structured coaching sessions to develop skills and confidence. THE OPERATION 36 CURRICULUM Our coaching follows a structured roadmap covering the essential skills of golf: 1. Full Swing - Building a repeatable and efficient swing to create consistent ball striking 2. Short Game - Developing a touch and technique for putting, chipping, and pitching 3. Course Strategy - Learning how to manage the game, make smart decisions, and improve scoring BENEFITS OF OPERATION 36 1. Clear Goals & Progression - The structured system makes learning fun and rewarding 2. On-Course Learning - Players develop real-world skills in an encouraging environment 3. Community & Coaching Support - Group classes provide accountability and motivation 4. Trackable Improvement - The Op 36 app allows golfers to see their progress over time ![]() Image of Operation 36 Model courtesy of the Operation 36 Website |
